The Beginning

In the Spring of 2006, a new program was born.

Drexel University offers employees of Lockheed Martin Corporation involved with the Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) a four course certificate in Operations Leadership & Organizational Management.  These courses count as Graduate credit, and can be parlayed into a Master's Degree in Engineering Management or a Master's degree in Business Administration depending on the background of the student.

The courses for this program are offered online in an asynchronous format, allowing students to access their courses at any point during the day or night (keep in mind Vista 4, the learning portal, typically updates on Sunday mornings from 6am-12pm ET, so it may experience delays at that time) to listen to lectures, access notes, discuss key concepts with other students and submit homework.  The courses are updated on a weekly basis and all homework is due at the end of each week.  Professors are available to their students via e-mail, course discussion boards and telephone.  Some courses also offer a real-time chat function.
